Dr. Rivas, LAUSD Board Member for District 2, was Marshall’s very special guest at Coffee with the Principal this morning. Dr Rivas encouraged our community to write into the board and attend an upcoming LAUSD district meeting regarding athletics, where we can make our voices heard to ask for needed upgrades and modernization to our facilities and request the urgent need for a new school gym, utilizing the Measure US $9 billion bond for repair and upgrading LAUSD’s school buildings and facilities. Dr. Rivas office will notify the school when the next meeting will be held. PTSA is grateful for her visit today, to acknowledge how special and historic our school is and that it is in need of facility upgrades and modernization. Grateful for her support in getting a much needed new football field and stadium lights, which Principal Puentes announced should begin construction around March 2026. Go Mighty Barristers !

We had a fantastic turnout for our “Counted Out” Screening last Thursday, almost 200 people were in attendance! Many of whom were students and judging by their feedback at the event it made quite a positive impact on their outlook toward Maths.
Pictured here just before the screening are PTSA board members, from L to R, Anne Edgar (membership), who championed the event, Meredith Wick (president) Tim Boland (communications), Sue Fadell Gintel (Vice President) and Sarah Briuer Boland (secretary) In the second photo, Anne Edgar and parent, math teacher and PTSA member, Emily Koslovski speaking at the event. Last photo is Anne responding and relating to a student who had shared how they struggled in maths class.
