Some things we have taught our students over the years are explained in this article. At Bright Academy LA, we still preach mental and emotional health & development as high priorities in order for students to reach THEIR fullest potential, not our highest expectations.

Our mentors have been teachers, coaches, and oftentimes therapists for our students, which have excelled the students beyond their previous understanding of themselves. Over our 4 years at this location, it has truly paid off! (Thank you, BALA teachers!)

In this article, there is a link to a full list of schools (updated April 20th) that have extended their decision deadline for seniors to turn in their SIRs. Our hearts go out to the seniors who are already coping with the unknown that we all endure, along with the unknown from this pandemic.

AP Testing will somehow continue! Our students have worked hard all year long to prepare for these exams and we sat tight for a solution. Collegeboard is working on a few options for students to continue receiving college credit, even during this uncertain time. We will get through this together.

May SAT has officially been cancelled.

The College Board, the organization behind the college placement exam, announced on Monday that it would no longer administer the test in May amid coronavirus concerns.

Guess which state made most of this list!

CNBC Make It analyzed admissions data from thousands of universities in order to identify which schools receive the most applications each year. We found was that the one school system, and 10 universities in total, stand out for receiving the most applications by far.
