You must meet with Dr. Dunlop to go over your application and there will most likely be rewrites of the essays. If you go to my calendar page (www.calendly.com/ddunlop) sign up for two side by side 30 minute appointments so we have enough time to work on your application. I know that this is annoying but it has proven to be a very successful approach. I will be setting up a meeting to go over everything in the next couple of weeks but thought you might want a heads up.

LA County Stipend Program Student recruitment and application information will be available in September 2018. The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health awarded up to 70 educational stipends of $18,500 to selected MFT students in the 2017-2018 academic year. The County has partnered with the MFT Consortium of Greate...

There will be a MFT stipend meeting on Sept 5 at 4:30-6:00 in the Amat House large conference room. I will explain the stipend programs, who is eligible to apply and the application process. You must attend this meeting to apply for either the State or County stipend, which is $18,500.

The MFT stipend program is a competitive program where students can apply for a stipend of $18,500 when they work in a public mental health agency for 1 year. To apply go to the PGU.EDU website and hit the MFT Consortium tab at the top. Application criteria and deadlines differ between the State and LA County programs. To apply for either stipend complete the application, write your essays and make an appointment with Dr. Dunlop ([email protected]) to work on your application and get her signature.

The California State Stipend applications for MFTs are now available at: www.pgu.edu/california-state-stipend-program.html You can only apply for the state stipend if you graduate between July 1, 2017 and Aug 31, 2018 and your traineeship was at a DMH contracted agency.

The LA County Stipends applications will be available 10/11/17 and to apply to the County stipend your traineeship does not have to be at a DMH contracted agency. However, you must graduate between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018 (which means students currently enrolled in the MFT program are not eligible, you have to wait until next year). California State Stipend Program

Job Opportunity:
Position announcement which may be of interest to your students who have completed MA level degrees. This job could be a bridge to a clinical – PhD program or a long term position.
Part time and full time psychological assistant positions are immediately available at The Neurology Center (TNC) of Southern California. To register as a psychological assistant in California individuals are required to have an MA completed or are enrolled in graduate school in clinical psychology at the pre-doc or post-doc level. Full time positions are eligible for benefits. All positions are paid. Supervision is available if students want to use hours towards licensure. TNC is a group neurology practice serving North County San Diego. TNC clinicians are affiliated with Scripps, Palomar, and Tri City Health Systems. Psychological assistants will gain experience with outpatient neuropsychological and rehabilitation psychology services. Psychological assistants will also have the opportunity to become involved with pre-surgical evaluation teams (epilepsy, DBS), neuroanatomy and neuropathology educations series, and clinical research.
