Last week we were able to have our kindergarten graduation. May God bless you always and lead you in His path!

We are so proud of these eighth graders. They have worked hard and been wonderful leaders through the last couple of very difficult years. One of them graduated with honors and the other two with highest honors. It has been our privilege to watch them grow in their love for Jesus over the last nine years. We wish them continued success as they move on to high school….we will miss them!

We want to thank the Central Valley Christian Gymnastics Team for coming and putting on a show for our students. Our students enjoyed watching the team’s routines and learning a few jumps.

This is our awesome Earth Day bulletin board created by students in grades 2-8. They also wrote down actions they can take to help protect our Earth.

Our last day at El Camino Pines began with packing, loading the vehicles, and cleaning cabins. After breakfast, we did a few more activities which included climbing the wall. The students had to work together to get everyone to the top. With a lot of teamwork, and some help from Aiden and Mr. Olivares, everyone successfully made it! After lunch, goodbyes were said and we headed back to school. We had an amazing four days learning more about God, each other and ourselves.

Our third day at El Camino Pines began with a trip on the California trail. Students learned about the history of the trail, were organized into families, and began the long journey. We ended at the top of the hill where we discovered that only one family had survived the trip. Then we ate a lunch of squirrel stew (chili) and cornbread outdoors. After lunch everyone participated in activities such as blacksmithing, gold panning, and making apple cider. We ended the afternoon with archery, which was a favorite with everyone. Tonight we will have an astronomy walk before bedtime. Everyone is having a great time in God’s outdoor classroom.

Our second day at El Camino Pines started with a tiny hit of snow and a temperature of 23 degrees. Students learned about rocks and made their own rock layers out of Starburst candies. After lunch we took our earthquake walk to the San Andreas Fault. Students were able to straddle the fault having one foot on the Pacific Plate and the other foot on the North American Plate. It was nice for the students to actually see things we’ve talked about at school. The afternoon ended with survival class. Students built shelters as a fun wrap up. The temperature didn’t get above 40 degrees all day, but our activities kept us warm most of the time.

Everyone is having a fun time on our first day at El Camino Pines learning about the three Cs….communication, cooperation, and concentration.

This morning our 5th-8th graders traveled to El Camino Pines camp for their yearly class trip. We are asking for continued prayers for God’s protection during their week’s stay.

STEM Activity Part 2!

Yesterday Miss Cortner finished the STEM activity that our students started 2 weeks ago.

As a recap, our students started making mummified apples. In part 1, students made observations, took measurements, and made predictions about their apples. Finally, students put their apples in a cup with a salt and baking soda solution.

Yesterday Miss Cortner had students remove their apples from the cup with the salt and baking soda solution. Students were able to see how their apples had changed after 20 days in the solution. Students recorded the changes and if their predictions were correct.

Our students enjoyed seeing how their apples were mummified!

Thank you to Miss Cortner for organizing and teaching this STEM activity to our students.
