This past weekend, Urban Partners Los Angeles hosted a community talking circle to gather feedback on our programs. We believe it is essential to align our organizational decisions with the actual needs of the community we serve, rather than relying on assumptions.
During the session, community members—including individuals with disabilities, those currently unemployed, and single parents—shared how our food, infant necessities, and tutoring programs provide vital support to their lives. We learned that while many of our neighbors face significant hardships, our services have helped alleviate many of their daily difficulties.
While some of our board members that run our programs maintain close engagement, and relationships with our community who come to our weekly programs, we felt it was important to open this additional space for community members to share their input in a safe environment and open dialogue.
These testimonials serve as a powerful reminder that while many basic needs remain unmet, our collective efforts are making a meaningful difference.

Sharing a few photos from our most recent weekly food distribution. As always, we were at the First Unitarian Church, continuing our mission to feed our community every Saturday.
These distributions are a vital part of our work, and we are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support that makes this possible.
We are dedicated to ensure that consistent and nutritious meals reach those who need them most in our community.❤️

On Saturday, August 16th, we (UPLA Board Members) had the pleasure of hosting a special dinner to honor Rochelle McAdam, the Founder and former Chair of Urban Partners Los Angeles. This event was a tribute to her more than three decades of tireless work and unwavering commitment to feeding our community.
We are truly grateful for her invaluable contributions and the significant role she has played in helping to uplift and strengthen our community over these many years. Her legacy of service continues to inspire us all.

We held our monthly Board Meeting, which was yesterday, June 21, 2025. We continue to have strategic discussions on how best to uplift and support our community. It was a meaningful meeting, with some of our board members attending via Zoom.
Urban Partners Los Angeles has proudly served the community for over 30 years, and we remain deeply committed to our mission. We are especially excited to now have Luane Stanzler, a youth representative, as a new addition to our board. Her perspective will be invaluable as we continue our work for the future of community.
