Abram Friedman Occupational Center | Construction Program
Nish Gao has a Cal State LA Finance degree and a property management career — but she wanted to understand repairs well enough to do them herself. So she enrolled in AFOC's Construction program.
"There's no limit to education. I can do the work myself now — I don't have to outsource."
As a woman entering the trades, she wasn't sure what to expect. She found a welcoming instructor and a program that met her where she was.
"Can I hire myself out? I'm getting that good."

Learn professional makeup, theatrical, and special effects techniques from Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:15 PM.

Class runs June 22 through July 17.

Class starts June 22nd and runs through July 24th. Class meets 8am to 12:15pm. Tuition Free! (Kit and Parking are $150)

Our students came together for an incredible cross-program learning experience! Barbering students with Mr. Hernandez and Manicuring Level 2 students with Ms. Loria got a special presentation on electrical fundamentals and safety, covering voltage, amperage, water and electricity safety, and California state salon requirements.
