Ryman Arts provides free advanced drawing and painting classes along with college and career planning for motivated teenagers with high potential.

From a single drawing class for 12 students in 1990, Ryman Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has grown to 40 classes for 600 students annually. We offer intensive out-of-school studio art instruction, college and career guidance, art supplies, and support services—all at no cost to the student.

For this week's , we'd like to congratulate Michelle Kaye Washington (Ryman '10) on her upcoming solo exhibition, "AGAINST THE GRAIN," opening May 22 at Drummond Studio Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina!

Through layered imagery and storytelling, the exhibition reflects on the history of rice plantations in the American South and the lives, labor, and experiences connected to them.

Drawn Together LA is hosting another live model drawing session, and Ryman Arts alumni are invited!

Founded by alumna Kaylee Hawley (Ryman ’15), with support from Lynette Haro (Ryman ’11), Brianna Proud (Ryman ’19), and Robin Enriquez (Ryman ‘14), creates welcoming, accessible live-model drawing sessions for artists to practice, connect, and create together.

That’s a wrap on Spring 2026! 🎨✨ Across our CSUF, Otis, and CSUSB campuses, this was a semester ful of growth, focus, and so much creativity.

It has been incredible to watch our students' ideas take shape and grow their confidence in the classroom.

This week for we're spotlighting Reuben Lara (Ryman '94), an illustrator and designer whose work is part of the immersive experience at Space 220 Restaurant in EPCOT at Walt Disney World.

Reuben conceptualized and illustrated 52 collectible trading cards for the dining experience, featuring artwork and trivia inspired by space exploration, planetary phenomena, and themed menu items. With rare “chase” cards in the mix, the series adds a fun, interactive layer for guests and collectors alike.
