First gig as Joe Perry in an Aerosmith tribute band. Show went really well… two hours of great rock tunes! Great audience…

For my guitar nerd friends… so this is shaping up to be my main guitar for the Aerosmith tribute band. It’s anything but stock - so I will go over in boring detail the updated specs courtesy of Performance Guitar in Hollywood, (Where most of my guitars go for custom work.) the tuners have been replaced by high quality locking Gotohs. (For those that don’t know - the Gibson Les Paul guitars are famous for not retaining accurate tuning.) the plastic nut has been replaced by a graphite nut carved by Performance. The pick ups were swapped for a Dimarzio EVO in the neck and my favorite Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. All the electronics were replaced with upgraded components. I installed the Bigsby tremolo myself. I replaced the stock black pick guard with the white pearl one (Because it’s more flashy) and will replace the cream Rhythm/Treble selector with a white one as soon as it arrives in the mail. Lastly - the guitar was set up with a truss rod and fret adjustment - mostly to accommodate an E flat tuning. I’ve never truly been a Gibson player. I’ve always leaned towards Fender, Gretsch, Paul Reed Smith, and lately G&L. I have an old Kramer that I love for 80’s glam… but after all the customization on this Les Paul… well I’m digging it big time.
