I’m that girlfriend you want on speed dial—the one who always says the words you need to hear but also gives you the kick in the butt you need. Helping burnt-out women over 50 create a new vision of themselves so they can thrive in their next act. No, really. Do you ever find yourself sharing something and then realizing that you need to hear it too? Same 🙋🏽♀️ In an effort to get more done in the morning I stopped writing my affirmations and told myself that I could do it as part of my night time ritual.
So let’s just call that the💩 it is and say that we are moving it back into our morning routine. By the time nighttime happens I fall asleep and then the days add up without affirmations! And that’s a bummer because they are so powerful! 🧜♀️🧚♀️🧞♀️
Do have any type of goal setting, journaling, writing affirmations, or morning pages as part of your AM routine? Would you like some help coming up with some? Start with the carousel in this post and adjust them to whatever works best for you. 📔📖📝

If you tuned into the U.S. presidential Inauguration yesterday, you would have heard Amanda Gorman read "The Hill We Climb," at 22 the youngest inaugural poet in American history. This portrait is from 2017, when she was named the first ever National Youth Poet Laureate. "Somehow we’ve weathered and witnessed a nation that isn’t broken, but simply unfinished," her poem reads. "We, the successors of a country and a time, where a skinny black girl descended from slaves and raised by a single mother can dream of becoming president only to find herself reciting for one."

Day 3 of The days seem to be running into each other or maybe they are running away? The photo above is from Christmas Eve 2019. Me and daddy-o aka 👧🏽👨🏾🦳
Our relationship reminds me to stay in the space of gratitude. 🙏🏽
Yes, this year has been a p**p storm in more ways than we can count. This week I heard many of my friends and my insta-fam saying that they are tired of this 💩. All the mask wearing, washing your hands, staying apart, BTW- did you wash your hands? Clorox wipes, antibacterial everything, and staying inside. Separate Honor for those of you that have been home schooling this whole time 🙏🏽
Here in LA we were starting to get used to restaurants being at 1/3 capacity and staying socially distant. Unfortunately with the # of cases still rising, even outdoor dining went away. 😞 It feels like that last bit of “the new normal” being taken away was really hard for many of us 😡
Are you feeling me on this one??? 🤬
Now, back to gratitude! Do you find yourself feeling some kind of way as you deal with everything right now? 😤Step 1) Look around you and take a moment.
Step 2) Be thankful (and I mean sincerely thankful) for who you got and what you got. Repeat as needed.
My dad and I are back to window visits. This is a long way from the fun that we had celebrating his 93rd birthday just last month. You know what else? We are both here to have the window visit. 🌎We are both here, really glad to see each other, and smile at each other. ❤️
I hope the this reminder will help you feel a bit better in the days and weeks ahead. What’s your hack for shaking off a grumpy mood?
I am beyond excited to share something new and very exciting! It all starts 8am PT, 11am ET, this Wednesday December 2nd. The project is called 21 Days. My question to you is 21 Days of what? What do you think 21 Days is about! Drop your ideas in the comments below 👇🏽
21 Days only on on Instagram 👊🏽✌🏽💪🏽👏🏽✊🏽🦾

Hey Friends! Did you know that we have an opportunity this year? Thanksgiving in 2020 could be the best one ever! WHY? 🤨
Because for as many years as I can remember (and for years before there was Dena), the holidays & family gatherings have meant all kinds of stress! What if we skipped the hassles in 2020??? 😂
Have you ever hosted 🦃Thanksgiving at your home? How did that go? Maybe cooking for days beforehand, along with cleaning your house like it was going to be inspected by Her Majesty? 🧹Were you like me? Up at 5:00am on Thanksgiving morning & somehow there was still more cooking and cleaning? 😝 Your guests arrive, you all have a great dinner, some family time, & maybe even some games together. Then YOU pass out exhausted by 6:00pm? Have you been there & done that? I am glad that I have done it & I feel no need to do it again! 😁
OR
Maybe your family lives somewhere else? Another city, another state, somewhere that involves TRAVEL. Now you have to coordinate getting there by a specific time like, "we always have turkey lunch at noon" or "we sit down for dinner at 4pm" or 7pm or whatever. So your annual stress looks more like PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES.✈️ Every call, text & group chat is focused on everyone arriving in time for "when we all sit down." In this scenario you might end up being in a mad dash to the airport, or the freeway, either way fighting crowds & lost luggage. WHY? Because everyone else in the entire US is trying to get to their destination in time for "when we all sit down." It's great when it all works out, it's just a lot of pressure with that countdown! Maybe we could all use a little less anxiety this year? Are you open to the possibility of less stress? Just chilling out at home & enjoying the day? You might really like it 😜 & if you don't you can always go back to your traditional plans in 2021! What are your plans for the holidays? LMK in the comments below 📱
