Shakta Yoga's upcoming 200-hour teacher training in Hatha and Kundalini Yoga begins March 2013! She began practicing yoga regularly in the early 1990's in NYC.

Located at the Yoga Garage in Los Angeles, this intimate teacher training provides an opportunity to deepen your understanding and practice of yoga. The Directors of Shakta Yoga Teacher Training:

Lauren Maher
Lauren Maher, E-RYT 500, C.Y.T., is certified yoga therapist and yoga instructor. She teaches Hatha, Kundalini and Yoga Therapy in the greater Los Angeles area. She has been practicing yoga

for fifteen years and teaching for nine. Lauren has taught in a variety of settings: yoga studios, hospitals, the corporate world, wellness centers and through her own private practice. She received her first certification through Yoga West, and then graduated from Loyola Marymount University’s esteemed two-year Yoga Therapy RX program. Lauren recently completed a Restorative Yoga training with Judith Lasater and is an ongoing student of the yoga sutras with Robert Birnberg. Lauren’s classes are inclusive and open to all levels -- she has taught everyone from seasoned yoga practitioners to seniors to cancer patients. She draws from her knowledge of various yoga styles to create a practice that is appropriate for the shifting, daily needs of her students. Her style is gentle and grounding, and focuses on breath awareness, proper and safe alignment in asanas, meditation and visualization. Lauren takes a non-dogmatic approach to yoga and infuses her classes with a sense of humor and lightness. Lauren views the real benefits of yoga as what you take with you outside of the class in into the world. Tanya Greve
Tanya Greve, the founder of the Yoga Garage, is currently certified by Yoga Alliance at its highest level, E-RYT 500. Her first teacher training was in Kundalini Yoga in 2001, and she has since completed teacher trainings in Anusara yoga, pre/post natal yoga with Gurmukh at Golden Bridge and Yoga Therapy through the esteemed two-year program at Loyola Marymount University. In 2007, she visited India to study meditation. She draws from the various teachings to address the individual needs of her students. In 2009, she gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Sadie, who has been her best teacher to date.

Started another great training weekend with our students last night. This weekend: the yoga sutras with Robert Birnberg, the Kundalini system of the Ten Bodies, backbends and core work! Hopefully we'll all be feeling strong in both body and mind by the time we're done!
