🎉 We are excited to share the Arts Education Collective 20th Anniversary Celebration Book!
Back in 2002, the Board of Supervisors launched the Arts Education Collective to make sure all of the County’s young people have access to the many benefits that arts education provides. Today, this coalition is an award-winning national model of public-private partnership and collective impact.
To mark the milestone, we’ve put together a Celebration Book that highlights two decades of work and progress in making equitable and accessible in LA County.
The Collective includes school districts, charter school networks, arts organizations, teaching artists, County agencies, and philanthropic partners. So, fittingly, the Celebration Book acknowledges and thanks hundreds of individuals, organizations, and agencies who have come together to accomplish more than any of us could have achieved alone.
We invite you to explore and share the book linked here: https://bit.ly/3r0owXT, and learn about ways to engage with the Arts Ed Collective! In coming weeks, we’ll feature excerpts and artwork—some of it commissioned by student artists. Help us build the next 20 years of arts education for our young people, in our schools and our communities!

We announced the awardees of our Community Impact Arts Grants this week! $750,000 will go to 75 incredible social justice and social service organizations, and municipal departments throughout LA County.
These aren’t traditional arts organizations, but they bring arts programming and events to LA County. They serve low-income individuals, people with disabilities, veterans, systems-impacted youth, and other underserved communities—and they span disciplines from therapeutic visual arts, to social justice filmmaking, music education for youth, dance empowerment, and museum memory programs for dementia.
CIAG was designed to do two things: make arts services available to people who might not get them through arts venues and outlets, and integrate the arts into cross-sector work at local nonprofits.
Check out our release (link in bio), which has a complete list of grantees, and some testimonials from United Cambodian Community of Long Beach, National Day Laborer Organizing Network, No Limits for deaf children, WouldWorks
Thanks to our Grants Division team, our peer review panelists, the LA County Arts Commission, the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors, and most of all, the staffs at these nonprofits for the incredible work they do.
