Our organization serves to provide a safe haven for our students of Polynesian, Micronesian, and Melanesian descent.

The Pacific Islander Student Association of the University of Southern California aims to cultivate, support and empower the Pacific Islander and Oceania community in higher education. As students in higher-education we want to serve as positive roles models to our cultural ancestry through our educational goals and aspirations. Our goal is to help build cultural awareness and individual “Nesian” identity within our Western Society.

Aloha! Bula Vinaka! Talofa! Alii! Malo e lelei! Hafa Adai! Kia Ora!

In the past year, USC PISA has joined a grassroots organization formed by student leaders from different colleges and universities in California called California Alliance of Pasifika Students, or CAPS.

We invite you to join us for our very first get together on May 26th from 6-8pm! It is a celebration of the end of a very tumultuous academic year, and we’ll celebrate some of the graduates from our respective orgs for their resilience and leadership. We will also have some games and prizes for participants!

You can join us via zoom:

We hope to see you there!

In an engaging conversation, show creators Leilani Chan and Ova Saopeng and cast members Innocenta Sound-Kikku, Emeraldrose Hadik, Jayceleen Ifenuk, and Jermine Kaipat will discuss issues facing the Micronesian community, the development of Masters of the Currents, and the impact the play has had on their lives.

The panel will be facilitated by Marie-Reine Velez, Visions and Voices production and marketing specialist and co-founder of the Asian American theatre collective Artists at Play. #

The NHPI community in CA is disproportionately affected by COVID-19 compared to other racial groups, but getting vaccinated at much lower rates. Consider the data and look out for our communities!!✌🏽

Thank you to our PISA member, Ant, for compiling this data and sharing these beautiful graphics! ❤️💛
