FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS:
What is the difference between a child care home and a child care center.
A child care home-based program is typically run in a private home, while a child care center is usually operated in a commercial or dedicated facility designed for larger enrollment. The biggest differences are usually size, staffing, structure, licensing, and cost.
MAIN DIFFERENCES:
Let’s take a look at the features
Location:
Home-based child care: Private residence
Child care center: Commercial or dedicated facility
Enrollment size:
Home-based: Smaller group of children
Center: Larger number of children
Staffing:
Home-based: Usually one main provider/teacher, sometimes one or two assistant
Center: Multiple providers/teachers and assistants
Environment:
Home-based: More home-like, intimate
Center: More classroom-like and structured
Operating costs:
Home-based: Can be lower, but not always
Center: Often higher due to rent, staffing, and equipment
Schedule:
Home-based: May be more flexible
Center: Usually follows fixed center hours
Age grouping:
Home-based: Often mixed ages
Center: Often separate classrooms by age
HOME-BASED CHILD CARE
Usually feels more personal and family-like
Children often stay with the same caregiver more consistently
May have smaller groups, which can be helpful for infants and toddlers
Can still be highly professional and educational, depending on the provider
CHILD CARE CENTER
Usually has a more formal school-style setup
Offers more staff coverage and often more age-specific classrooms
May provide more built-in supervision support because of the larger team
Often has higher overhead costs, which can affect tuition
WHICH IS BETTER?
Neither is automatically better. It depends on what the family values most:
Home-based child care may be a better fit for families who want a warm, small, familiar setting.
Child care center-based care may be a better fit for families who want a larger program with multiple staff and classroom structure.
As for me I can tell that I love my small mixed group with a large wonderful community created through the years of service. We are still in contact with families whose children attended our program.
I never take anything and anyone for granted and I always appreciate your support!
Thank you!!
Gaby

Early childhood education has always been about building strong relationships with children and families through open, effective communication. It is centered on developmental readiness, not academic acceleration.

Frequently Asked Questions from Parents
1. Is it possible to visit the program while children are attending?
No. For safety and licensing reasons, no visitors are allowed inside the facility unless they have completed the required background check, and at least Pediatric CPR and First Aid, and Mandated Reporter training. Parents are the only exception, but visitors are not permitted.
2. Do you offer transition support for new children?
Yes. Transition support is available as long as all outstanding fees have been paid in full.
3. My baby is 4 months old and I’m looking to enroll part-time, 3 days per week. Is that possible?
No. Infant spots are very limited and in high demand. Under California law, an infant is considered a child under 24 months old. However I can consider and older infant 18-20 months old who is more like a toddler.

I appreciate your interest and will look forward to connecting with you!

We wanted to share a quick update with our families and community: at this time, we do not have infant availability for children 24 months and under. Our next anticipated infant opening will be in September 2026.
We do currently have toddler availability, and we would be happy to connect with families interested in learning more. If you would like to talk about care options for your child, please feel free to reach out.
With heartfelt appreciation,

Why playing dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 help children develop?
Kids are drawn to dinosaurs because they combine wonder, power, mystery, and play in a way few other topics do. Dinosaurs feel real, but also magical: they once existed, looked extraordinary, and invite endless imagination. For many children, dinosaur play is a mix of learning, storytelling, movement, and excitement.
Children develop language skills through storytelling, naming, and describing dinosaurs, memory skills by remembering species and features. Enhance kids language skills and creativity. And the funny part the emotional expressions!!we love ❤️🦖🦕🐊
