Yahoo quoted Valter Longo in an article on lifestyle changes, including nutrition, to maximize longevity. Longo’s research suggests that eating a diet that consists of lots of plants and fish and little red meat is associated with a longer life. A diet that includes sufficient but low levels of protein helps to prevent aging acceleration by altering the expression of certain genes associated with the breakdown of our bodies, Longo said. He also noted that this changes around age 65, when more protein is needed.

From investment banking to health care, a senior living degree helped shape an unexpected career path in longevity care.
USC Leonard Davis MASLH alumnus Ilian Grigorov discovered a passion for longevity clinics while studying senior living hospitality — and found a network of fellow alumni advancing healthy aging around the world.
“It was fantastic to dive into senior living academically while also developing these services in Bulgaria and Greece,” Grigorov says. “USC has not only given me a prestigious degree. I also feel I'm part of a community of professionals dedicated to helping people achieve optimal health as they age.”

Los Angeles Times quoted Susan Enguidanos in a column on hospice fraud. “The biggest complaint,” she said of consumer reviews of hospice organizations on Google and Yelp was that hospice staff didn’t show up as much as expected. “They said they would come,” Enguidanos said, paraphrasing a typical response, “and they just didn’t show up.” The column was widely republished, including in Yahoo, AOL, and MSN.
