UniverSOUL Hip Hop serves our California schools and community through 3 core outlets:
1. Education:
We offer in-school Hip Hop dance residencies, workshops, and assemblies that focus on character education and 21st century learning skills, which include: creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, communication and collaboration, social and cross-cultural skills, leadership and responsibility, and local and global community. Our hand-crafted curriculums are designed using the California State Standards for Visual and Performing Arts and reinforce the new common core standards for education.
2. Enrichment
We offer our signature UniverSOUL Hip Hop EMPOWER dance program during after-school and weekend hours. Through engaging activities, meaningful discussion, and a supportive environment, students will develop the dynamic artistry of Hip Hop/Street dance while exploring the UniverSOUL theme of “Empowerment.” The classes will culminate in a “Family Celebration” that includes a student performance, dance contest, and interactive dance lesson for the whole family!
3. Excellence
We have a strong COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE and offer ongoing professional development training and support to all our teaching artists and mentors. Our artists are an elite group of highly qualified and skilled dancers who are passionate about being lifelong learners to both the art of teaching AND the art of Hip Hop.
