For their final Upper School retreat, seniors spent three days focused on group bonding and setting intentions for their final year together!

Students practiced deep listening and shared their personal experiences through a range of guided activities. The 12th grade retreat was a great time to connect with old friends, discover new ones, and disconnect from technology.

Turning "I Can't" into "I Can"! Last week, the 4th grade held its annual "I Can't" picnic, an opportunity for students to reflect on challenges they may face this school year, and to adopt a can-do mindset.

Students and their families came up with one thing they think they "can't" do, wrote it down and placed it in a box, and ended by burying their "can'ts." Coach Chow shared a few inspiring final words to send off the "can'ts" for good, before everyone enjoyed a picnic together!

Building community and memories! ☀️ Last week, 8th graders spent three memorable days at El Capitan in Santa Barbara, strengthening friendships and learning more about one another. Highlights included an amazing day at the beach; learning about Indigenous peoples, cultures, practices, native plants, and our relationship with the environment; hiking to a llama farm and speaking with the farmer about the circle of life; and plenty of laughter and creativity!

One last lesson before the big stage! Last week, Ezra Frech '23 stopped by the Middle School dance studio to visit his former dance teacher, Nora Francis, ahead of his debut on Dancing with the Stars. Ms. Francis, who has been at Brentwood for 19 years, provided Ezra with sage advice and a reminder that he always has Eagle support.

It's a paw-ty for Gus and Hazel! 🐾 Last week, we celebrated our beloved Middle and Upper School therapy dogs' first birthday. Gus and Hazel joined our community last school year as part of our commitment to student well-being. Since then, they've proved to be a consistent mood booster for students (and employees)!
