Congratulations to the gIDE™ Master Clinician Class of 2026! 🎓👏

The final day of our 18th Annual Global Symposium celebrated a year of dedication, clinical growth, and achievement, culminating in caps, gowns, and the presentation of Implant Diplomas.

For our student case presentations, Dr. Sascha A. Jovanovic selected some of the class’s best clinical cases, with selected students presenting their work to their peers. These presentations showcased the clinical growth within our graduating class. You’ll find photos of some of these presenters in the carousel!

We also welcomed Dr. Giacomo Fabbri for a guest lecture, joining us online from Italy.

And what a surprise to welcome Dr. Joseph Kan! His exceptional, evidence-based lecture on immediate implants in the anterior zone was a highlight of the day, with an enthusiastic response from our attendees.

Full-arch focus. Hands-on learning. A celebration to remember. 🙌

Day 4 of the 18th Annual gIDE™ Global Symposium brought together the surgical, prosthetic, and digital sides of full-arch implant therapy with Dr. Mamaly Reshad, Dr. Tony Zhang, and Dr. Yusef Khadembashi.

Before lunch, Tatiana Vinci brought a fresh perspective through her dental photography lecture and live demonstration, putting the art of clinical documentation in focus. 📸

Dr. Yusef Khadembashi also led our full-arch hands-on workshop, guiding attendees as they put the day’s concepts into practice. From implant and multi-unit abutment placement to photogrammetry, 3D-printed temporary prostheses, and restorative finishing, there was plenty to explore.

Then it was time to celebrate! An evening of music, conversation, and graduation festivities brought our global gIDE community together to recognize the work, growth, and friendships behind this milestone. 🎓

Two generations of expertise. One unforgettable day of learning. 🙌

Day 2 of the 18th Annual gIDE™ Global Symposium put soft tissue management in the spotlight, with live surgery, hands-on learning, and plenty of moments worth sharing.

Father-and-son duo Dr. Miles Madison and Dr. Ethan Madison were a standout, bringing their expertise to a live surgery session focused on minimally invasive soft tissue surgery. A special opportunity to watch two generations share their craft with our global community.

Dr. Homa Zadeh kept the learning going with an outstanding hands-on VISTA technique workshop, guiding attendees through his approach and giving them the opportunity to put the concepts into practice.

In this discussion, Dr. Sascha Jovanovic and Dr. José Carlos Martins da Rosa explore the technique sensitivity of Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration (IDR) and Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR).

Dr. Martins da Rosa’s advice is clear: begin with the simplest clinical cases. Build your skills one step at a time before attempting more complex defects or multiple-tooth treatments.

A difficult outcome does not always mean the technique failed. Sometimes, the clinician simply took on a case before they were fully prepared for the challenge.

Master the fundamentals. Gain experience. Then cross the boundaries.

“I don’t want to be the smartest person in the room. That means I’m not learning anything new.”

Dr. Avgusta Burshteyn came to gIDE™ as a self-described implant novice with a clear goal: learn the proper protocols from the beginning, develop sound clinical judgment, and build a foundation for managing simple, predictable implant cases with confidence.

One of her biggest takeaways has been gaining a deeper appreciation for soft tissue management and the critical role it plays in both clinical and prosthetic outcomes.

After learning from Dr. Sascha Jovanovic and gIDE’s guest faculty, Dr. Burshteyn says she now feels significantly more prepared to handle and restore implant cases, and even more motivated to keep growing.

Her advice to anyone considering the program?

“It’s like going to the gym. You might not want to go beforehand, but you never regret a good workout. I think it’s worth the investment.”

Throwback Thursday to 2016, when we welcomed an incredible group of clinicians from Japan for an advanced course in implant and esthetic dentistry. 🇯🇵

The course was organized for the Osaka study club of Dr. Takuya Satoh, who joined us alongside fellow study club director Dr. Ryuhei Yamaka and their students.

Led by Dr. Sascha Jovanovic and Dr. Pascal Magne, the program combined advanced education, shared expertise, and plenty of positive energy.

It was a memorable experience and another reminder of how long international education and community have been at the heart of gIDE™.

Full-arch treatment is not one-size-fits-all. The prosthetic decision matters.

This three-year prospective study featured by Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry evaluated two-implant-retained mandibular overdentures in edentulous patients with atrophic and nonatrophic mandibles.

The findings showed that mandibular atrophy influenced bone remodeling and oral-health-related quality-of-life profiles. In patients with atrophic mandibles, bone tissue responded positively after the first year, with bone apposition and preservation across key maxillary, mandibular, and peri-implant regions after three years.

The clinical takeaway is not that one prosthetic solution fits every patient. Predictable full-arch care requires clinicians to evaluate anatomy, biology, function, and prosthetic design before selecting the appropriate fixed or overdenture treatment pathway.

This evidence-based approach is taught in the prosthetic component of gIDE’s Master Clinician Program and in our Full Arch Course this December, where clinicians learn the diagnosis, planning, and ex*****on of both fixed full-arch and implant-retained overdenture treatments.
