Our 7th graders took their learning to Catalina Island Marine Institute, where blue wetsuits and bright fins became part of the school-day uniform.

These moments from CIMI take us from getting ready on the deck to snorkeling together in the bay, then gearing up again after dark. There is so much to take in when your classroom has an ocean view!

Our youngest Bobcats became scientists for the day! 🍓

Hair nets on, our nursery students learned how to extract DNA from strawberries. They crushed the fruit, filtered the mixture, and used a solution to collect and observe the DNA in tiny test tubes.

This hands-on experiment is one of the many ways our parents share their stories, traditions, and expertise in the classroom throughout the year. Each visit brings a little of home into the school day and gives our Bobcats something new to explore together. 🐾💛

Third grade has been busy at the math table and on the classroom floor! 💙

Last week, students worked through math activities with partners, using pencils, counters, and tablets along the way. In innovation, small groups set up ramps, sent toy cars rolling, and recorded what happened.

Zip lines, climbing walls, and a few days together in the trees. 🌲

Last night, it was the grown-ups’ turn in the classroom. 🐾

Our Bobcat families pulled up a chair for Curriculum Night, spent time with their children’s teachers, and got a closer look at the learning ahead. From conversations outside to gathering around classroom tables, it was a chance to get to know the people and places that fill their children’s days.

Thank you to our teachers for welcoming families into your classrooms, and to our parents for spending the evening with us. Here’s to a year of Growing Together. 💙

Big Bobcats and little Bobcats, side by side in the garden. 🌱

This week our 1st and 8th graders teamed up for science in the outdoor garden. Together they turned the compost, learned how to propagate new plants from cuttings, practiced caring for what is already growing, and got to know the different kinds of plants that call our garden home. The 8th graders led, the 1st graders asked the best questions, and everyone left with a little dirt under their nails.

Learning grows best when we grow it together. 💙

The Kindergarten classroom library is officially open! ✂️📚

Our Bobcats marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting on their very own bookshelf. Before the big snip, they learned how to take good care of a book: clean hands, gentle pages, and back to its spot on the shelf when the story is done. Then the ribbon came off, and the shelf is theirs for the rest of the year.

Here's to a year full of new favorites, big imaginations, and a lifelong love of reading. 💙

House Sorting Day is where belonging begins. 🐾

Our First Graders and newest Bobcats were welcomed into their Houses: Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, or Compassion. Younger Bobcats found new friends and role models in the older grades, while older students stepped forward as leaders.

After sharing In-N-Out, each House began designing a banner that will represent its team and fly proudly throughout the year.
