I have 25+ years performing, recording, and teaching experience. With my experience and credentials, My West L.A. studio was established in 2005. You got it. Check.
A little about me:
I am a professional musician with 25+ years of teaching and performing experience on the drums. I have a wide knowledge base, having received my music degree from the California Institute of the Arts, and having studied with legends such as Joe LaBarbera, Mike Clark, Dave Elitch, Tootie Heath, Sherman Ferguson, Rick Latham, and many others. I also have a broad degree of experie
nce, having taught at the renown Stanford Jazz Workshop, and performed and/or recorded with such names as Oranyan Coltrane (and other members of the Coltrane Family), legendary jazz trumpet player Jack Walrath, country artist Stephanie Quayle, soul/funk singer Big Joe Hurt, Persian music legends Bahram Bajelan and Mehrdad Arabifarb, and many, many, more. My drum lessons are comprehensive and are tailored to all ages and levels of ability. Learn everything from fundamental stick control, physical techniques including Gladstone and Moeller approaches, sight reading, four-way independence, and linear technique, to advanced genre studies such as jazz, hip-hop, rock, country, and many others. You will also learn music theory, sight reading, ear training, the history of the instrument, as well as receiving instruction in the nuts-and-bolts of drum maintenance and tuning. Want to learn studio recording techniques? My studio is fully equipped. I will transform you from "just a drummer" into a knowledgeable artist with a firm foundation in excellent musicianship! I also feature super-fun teaching methods for children under 8 (parental supervision required). I offer solid approaches used by professionals everywhere, as well as a fun and relaxed learning environment. I also offer a small but potent recording environment. Need drum tracks for your project or film score? Need a solid recording environment and experienced producer to help you with your next songwriting demo? (And while I wouldn't call myself a mixing engineer, my mixing skills are solid enough to help you with a basic mix if you're feeling a budget pinch. You won't be unhappy!)
