About Us:

We are a Family Daycare who pride ourselves on our commitment to the education and safety of our students. This August, we will offer an after-school program for children between grades K-5.

Position Description:

The After-school Tutor will primarily focus on guiding elementary-aged students complete their assignments, and to a lesser extent, offer them assistance on understanding the material.

There are approx. 5 students (grade 3 and lower) currently enrolled in the after-school program, some of which may have in-person learning (i.e., Zoom lessons)

Direct Responsibilities: Safety

- Monitor students' behavior

- Maintain a safe and clean learning environment

Direct Responsibilities: Tutoring

- Explain the instructions of a given assignment

- Provide guidance on how to complete a given assignment (i.e., help them understand "how to approach the problem")

- Organize time (if time permits) for students to practice their lessons

Desired Experience & Skills: Specific

- Zoom

- Working with/Tutoring children under the age of 10

- Familiarity with LAUSD elementary-grade assignments

- Speak conversational Armenian

- Able to explain material in simplistic terms

- Organized and able to complete time-sensitive tasks

- Able to create a structured yet creative setting
