Maya Angelou Community Highschool

School name changes again. It is now Dr. Maya Angelou Community Senior High School. We will be a STEAM school this coming year. STEAM = Science Technology Engineering Art and Math. We are also an AVID school. Ms. Davidson has built up the art program, we hired two teachers and will now have video production, digital art, sculpturing, AP Studio art and long with regular art classes. For the STEM portion we will have PROJECT LEAD THE WAY with has three pathways; Computer Science, Biomedical, and Engineering. School has formed partnership with LA Trade Tech so will have addition courses in Art, nursing and more 7th period and after school. Next year going for music instruction. Would have happened this year, but we don't have a music room since Synergy has it all day. Will have to remodel the drama or dance room into another music room first. Orientation for next school year starts next week, alumini are welcome to attend. Seniors and juniors on 7th, 10th graders on 8th and 9th graders on 9th.

Laser Tag Friday 3-11. Test out your shooting skills....Take out a rival group in a safe and fun way. Event being held in small gymn. Yes, will have "landscaped" so have things to hide behind. Out door fun in quad, while team wait their turn.
