We’re so excited to let you know that NYT bestselling author James Ponti is coming to our school on Tuesday, Sept 8th!

3rd–5th graders will get to hear about Art Attack, book 3 in his Sherlock Society series, plus his path to becoming a writer, the research behind his popular series (like City Spies and The Sherlock Society), and tips for kids to grow as writers.

The Sherlock Society follows two siblings, their friends, and their retired-reporter grandfather solving cold cases around Miami - fast-paced, funny mystery-adventures that are hard to put down!

Only Sherlock Society titles will be presold and signed, so don’t miss out!
Pre-order Sherlock Society books by Sept 4th (choose “coordinated school pickup” at checkout) to support the visit. Preordered copies will be signed! (But please don’t send in copies from home.)

Short Ave is a colorful place! 🌈

1st Fire Drill of the year was a success! We practice drills to learn how to improve, so we are prepared should anything happen!

Every Friday is Spirit Day at Short Ave!! We encourage all students and staff to wear your Short Ave gear to show your dolphin spirit! We have had so many great designs over the last few years, and word on the street is that our merch is considered the best on the west side! While we do have some older designs for sale on the website now, we are in the midst of a reorder for our new retro line that already sold out. FoSA will let you all know when the new designs are back in stock!!

Restaurant Nights are back! Join us at Pitfire Pizza on Tuesday, August 18 & Wednesday, August 19 and support Short Avenue while enjoying a night off from cooking! A percentage of participating sales goes back to FoSA. Grab your pizza to go and meet up with other Short Ave families at a nearby park for a fun back-to-school playdate!
