Short Avenue Elementary, a charming neighborhood school nestled within and surrounded by vibrant and growing communities, has won numerous awards. Focused on the whole child, the thoughtful curriculum includes TK/K-6 school-wide hands-on Science projects, Latin for all classes, technology education, STEAM Exhibition Nights, and much more. Short Avenue students continue to win local, state and international awards in a variety of areas. The school is also in the consideration phase of becoming an International Baccalaureate program. 63% of students are Title I.

Did you know that our Aides have a monthly meeting with Mr. Lamb and Rachel? Yesterday’s meeting was about building community and how to be a trusted adult for our students. As well as practicing reflective questions to help our students learn to deal with conflict. That’s what makes this community special. We are a village, and we show up for all of our kids.

Our September Restaurant Nights are on Tuesday, September 22 & Wednesday, September 23 at Humble Potato — and this time, lunch AND dinner count! 🙌 Code is valid for dine-in, pickup & delivery! Humble Potato gives 20% of Short Ave orders back to our school!

How to make sure your order supports Short Ave:
Ordering online? Order through HumblePotato.com and select the SHORT AVE button from the menu and add to your cart.
Dining in or calling in your order? Just tell the cashier you’re with Short Ave when you order.

We had a fantastic Dolphin Cafe and All School Assembly this morning!! We sang our Short Ave School song accompanied by a group of parents who learned it on guitar and the 3rd grade led the school on song! We also had some 5th graders read poems they wrote about a special object that they loved which was inspired by a Korean poem. And of course we kicked off the morning with a Dolphin Cafe and FoSA was there selling our adorable Short Ave merch!
