Even though I’m mostly off the gram nowadays, I thought I’d jump in with a little 2016 post, because I’m nostalgic and it was a huge year for me.
2016 was the year that I started building the life that I now have, and I kicked it off with a cross country move to LA. It was a tough year, but I never had an ounce of regret — I love LA deeply, and the city blessed me. It really did.
At this time in my life, music was everything, and I struggled. I struggled with money, with relationships, with making it all work. My first job in LA was as a personal assistant to a YouTuber, and I was terrible at it.
But my dear friend told me to apply as a reader at a metaphysical store in LA, and I got the job. It was the first time I attempted to turn tarot into my full time career, and it worked. Something finally worked!
From there, over the next 6 years I had an epic break up during a Santa Anna wind storm, lived for free in a weird little carriage house with a bathtub in the kitchen, met my husband and started a family.
2016 was the pivotal moment where I took confident control of my life for the first time. I had finally internalized the lessons of my Saturn return (which as a Sun square Saturn person is imperative). I stopped asking for permission. I took big chances.
It’s interesting to write this back in Austin, the drama and excitement of my LA years behind me. 2016 was a hard year but one I’m eternally grateful for.

✨Full Moon in Aquarius 🌕 Exploring Extremes✨
This full moon is an interesting one. I say that because the moon and the sun are forming their monthly opposition at 16 degrees Aquarius and Leo, yet there aren’t really any others aspects tied to these two luminaries.
But that’s only a small portion of the story of tomorrow’s full moon. A potent kite formation between Saturn and Neptune (still nearly Conjunct at 1 degree of Aries), Uranus at 1 degree of Gemini, Pluto at 2 degrees Aquarius, and finally Mars at 1 degree of Libra occurs simultaneously as the moon reaches its fullness.
This is a recipe for big, big energy, and it’s up to us individually and collectively to deal with it.
Imagine this full moon as a great, powerful wind. Will you purposefully raise your sails to meet it? I don’t advise fighting this sort of gale; it will certainly smash your ship against the hidden shoals below the churning waves.
Instead submit to the energy, let it carry you but don’t let it carry you away. Work with it, let it push you forward. It takes patience and adaptability to maintain composure in this sort of weather.
I found myself drawn to the tenacity and bravery of Polynesian wayfinders while contemplating the message of this full moon. Thoughtful design, simplicity and necessity are pertinent themes during this lunation.
You don’t need much to physically transform yourself, but you do need the wisdom you’ve gathered over time and the power of observation to navigate these new tides.

Today is my solar return, another rotation around the sun. I always find myself reflective around my birthday (probably due to being a 12th house Sun square Saturn) and this year I find myself praying for clarity. Clarity for myself and for the world.
Clarity that we can see the injustice and horrors of the unfolding genocide in G*aza, that humanity can open its collective eyes towards a better future for the health of the planet and the health of humanity.
I’ve been in contemplation for the past few years, bumbling around like a hermit in a cave (filled with screaming toddlers), trying to discern the best use of my energy and my voice during these times of crisis.
Our lanterns may be only a flicker in the darkness, but even that small light can be enough. I pray we all find our light in these times.

✨Neptune at 29 Pisces ✨
Soon Neptune will step into an entirely new energetic chapter, from the depths of Pisces into the singular, fiery energy of Aries. I’ve finally had a moment today to pause and reflect after a very busy few months, and found that this moment of reflection is occurring as the Sun and Neptune meet at the final degrees of Pisces, perfectly squaring my natal Neptune placement.
The 29th degree is the anaretic degree, where the culmination of the zodiacal energy of a particular sign is the most pronounced. For Pisces, we see the portal into the next chapter fully galvanized at 29 degrees, and in eyes, this is one of the most potent degrees in the entire zodiac. Pisces leads us towards transcendence, madness, agape, intoxication.
In short, things are not clear right now. It’s interesting to see this so obviously at play around us. I think put it best in a recent essay: the US (but some could say the world) has entered the chrysalis. While it may seem safe from the outside, within its protective shell a chaos is unleashed that completely transforms what is within. Will we emerge as a new form? Will we be consumed by a passing bird? Only time will tell.
I’ve been reflecting on the potential of it, as well as the danger. How we collectively and individually deal with the change that is upon us will be playing out over the next 13 or so years.
What began for you in 2011? You may see some of those themes coming to a close in the year ahead as Neptune teeters back to 29 Pisces until it finally roots itself into Aries in 2026, where it will stay until 2039.

✨Pluto in Aquarius - Us, Them, We✨
Every transit, planetary position, tarot card and human being holds a level of duality. And with Aquarius, the poles of utopia vs. dystopia can become even more apparent, swinging between both idealism and despair.
It’s interesting that we find ourselves in just such a precipice as the distant planet Pluto begins its final ingress into Aquarius, where it will stay for the next 20 years or so.
This ends the cycle of Pluto in Capricorn which began back in 2008, where we saw financial institutions ending, new currencies emerging, and smart phones infiltrating every aspect of our lives.
With Aquarius, the collective becomes magnified and magnetized, and this can yield a variety of results. For instance, the last time this transit occurred, the French Revolution and the Declaration of Independence upended the monarchies that had ruled the Western world.
This time the change feels far more technological in nature, and will perhaps be even more intense, thanks to the astrological changes that are coming up in 2025.
So will be embrace the positive aspects of collectivism or the dangers? Will artificial intelligence improve reality or control it? It’s actually up to us, not the stars to ultimately decide where we will steer our nascent global culture.
Prepare for levels on interconnection that you can’t even fathom. Create your own networks of mutual aid by using technology instead of letting technology use you. Resist the urge to succumb to group think and dogma.
Can you balance your own needs with needs of others, with empathy, compassion and your ego in check? Your’re about to be tested on these themes for the next 20 years…

Over the summer, I made a chilling astrological discovery: I have essentially the same chart as Vice Presidential hopeful JD Vance. You’re probably thinking we’re both August 2nd birthdays, but oh, it goes deeper than that. Vance and I were born the same year, 13 minutes and about 100 miles apart. Our charts are nearly identical, with only one degree difference between our rising signs and Scorpio Mars.
I’ve done quite a bit of writing around the realization that I’m nearly astrologically identical to someone who could be potentially detrimental (in my opinion) to the future of the largest democratic nation in the world. My Saturn squares, my planets in detriment, Algol on my midheaven - the inherent or perhaps potential evil within my chart was put into stark relief.
I pondered these things as any sun, rising and Venus in Leo person would, through the lense of my personal experience and egoic fascination. While I view Vance as a rather villainous character, it feels good to see your chart flexing so much power. And while it’s hard to admit it, we do have our similarities.
All of this has led to a greater meditation on the mystery that is free will, astrology and the inherent chaos of the universe. There are schools and practitioners of astrology that take the system as static and inflexible, a fatalistic life sentence. Astrology can be chillingly accurate at times, but in my eyes, it’s an energetic propensity rather than a hard and fast truth. And seeing my own chart with a very different owner has only solidified that intimation.
Your astrology can be a fascinating way to explore yourself, your world and energy that is occurring around you and through you. But it isn’t a death sentence. I am not a pro fascist Republican Vice Presidential nominee like my chart could indicate.
Instead, I took the energy and ran in a very different direction, away from my Catholic upbringing, my midwestern Christian evangelical in tinged teenage years. So please don’t see your chart as what you are doomed to, but as the clay with which you begin the sculpture that is your life.

🌕 Full Moon in Aries 🌕
The full moon in Aries has a message for you:
It’s time to let it go. Let go of the past, let go of the excess, let go of the cycles that have been haunting you, perhaps for years.
It’s been awhile since I pulled cards for a lunation, but it felt necessary today. And of course the tarot delivered us a nice little message, clearly spelling out the end of a cycle.
The 8 of cups is a solemn goodbye, and though it may be a long time coming, it doesn’t lessen the sorrow. Whether we have lost or consciously chosen to leave behind, it is natural to mourn the ending of what we so generously poured our energy into.
But the 9 of Pentacles and the 10 of Cups reminds us of the richness we gained in the experience. Whether material or emotional, loss can be accompanied by wisdom. Do your best during this full moon to identify what the pain has taught you.
If you have the strength, find nourishment for your soul as you traverse this terrain. If there is an uncomfortable spaciousness in your life, trust that the wisdom gained will help fill it with something worthwhile. Something beautiful.
And if you feel like exploding, take a beat and ask yourself what emotion is hiding behind the rage. Is it grief? Is it a craving for freedom? For a little@more Astro insight, see my Aries full moon reel 🌝

Which astrology toilet are you? Are you a bedazzled toilet rising? Are a snake in the bowl moon?
I make a lot of serious posts on my IG, but I’m a multi dimensional human. So please enjoy some trashy astrology, as a little treat.

Pluto in Capricorn ✨The Final Pass✨
Pluto is making its final pass through the late degrees of Capricorn, and will finally settle into Aquarius in late November where it will stay until 2043.
So where were you in back in 2008 when Pluto first traipsed into Capricorn? I had just graduated from college into an economically tumultuous landscape, young and overwhelmed by the freedom of choice that comes with being 24. I began my “career” as a musician around that time as well, playing shows in dingy basements in Austin and going on my first tour.
If I look back at it, it seems like a fun dream, but at the time, I was not happy. I spent Pluto in Capricorn finding my voice, honing my talents in obscurity and breaking through walls of insecurity. It’s not to say that this journey is over, but I can feel it shifting substantially.
I’m also have a 29 degrees Pluto in Libra, so this is the final leg of my Pluto square Pluto transit. It’s been…long. There have been road blocks, constant construction related personal and external traffic jams and lots of screaming (I have a 1 and 3 year old, so yeah, lots of screams). To say I haven’t had road rage a few times would be disingenuous.
So as this final energetic shift loosens the dust of the past 14 years, ask yourself how you’d like to continue moving through the triggering parts of life, of you. Pluto pulls up that which is buried, what we don’t want to see. But if you’re ready to embrace transformation and discomfort, I believe Pluto can be an ally.
Maybe Pluto has a little lesson for you as well? If you’d like to take a look at your chart, I’m now offering astrology and tarot sessions on Sundays, virtually or in Austin. Its really been a pleasure to integrate these two aspects of my work together, so check out the link in my by Oh if you’d like to book.
