5 Reasons You (as a Church Member) Should Not Go “AWOM”

“For me, reason is the natural organ of truth; but imagination is the organ of meaning. Imagination, producing new metaphors or revivifying old, is not the cause of truth, but its condition.”

With the removal of another well known (male) pastor from pastoral ministry due to an inappropriate relationship with a woman (not his wife, to state the obvious) I want to remind ministry leaders to meditate afresh on this helpful article by Randy Alcorn:

Eternal Perspective Ministries is a Bible-believing, Christ-centered nonprofit organization founded by author Randy Alcorn.

Frances is fierce, she’s ferocious
Her ferocity excels
It accelerates and detonates
in love through justice upheld

Fierce in growing
Reading, praying, writing,
Digging into the stories
To unearth and unbind the lying

Fierce in loving
Serving, planning, and doing
She cares with force
Seeking, feeling, intuiting

Fierce for family
For children thinking and discerning
For living and laughing and
Experiencing all the pursuits for learning

Fierce for Jesus
His kingdom, his people, his church
Moving this way and that way
Supporting, upholding in the joy and hurt

Fierce for marriage
For challenging, following, and fun
Spreading fierceness. Inserting power
To run through walls since day one.

Ferocious.
Ferocity + velocity.
Feel it. Love it.
My day one. Nineteen years plus to eternity.
Fierce Frances.
Frances the Fierce.

Friends, I call your attention to a significant moment in the life of the Southern Baptist Convention. Next month four Southern Baptists, Andrew Brown, Stephen Lorance, Steve McKinion, and Malcolm Yarnell, will move that the Messengers amend the BFM with the article, "The Creed." The creed they are....
