We celebrate the stories, cultures and contributions that have shaped America and continue to inspire generations.

This Latino/a Heritage Month, we honor the trailblazers who opened doors, celebrated their roots and helped shape the world we know today, while celebrating the students and communities carrying those stories forward.

// NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP SEMI-FINALIST // We are incredibly proud to celebrate GALA Senior Audrey, who has been named a 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist!

This prestigious academic honor recognizes approximately 16,000 students nationwide — about 1% of U.S. high school seniors — based on outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. Semifinalists represent some of the highest-scoring students in their state and have the opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships.

In addition to being an exceptional scholar, Audrey is a member of the GALA Varsity Tennis Team, serves as Yearbook Assistant Photography Editor, participates in Sea Scouts and Girl Scouts, and is working toward her Gold Award. She is also a research intern at UCLA SEALab and is passionate about environmental science.

Audrey embodies the curiosity, leadership, determination, and excellence we celebrate at GALA. We are so proud of all that she has accomplished!

Congratulations, Audrey! 💜 Go Goddesses!

💜 Happy Grandparents Day from GALA! 💜

This year, GALA started a new tradition with our 6th graders: GALA Generations!

We invited our students’ grandparents and other special people in their lives to join them for lunch at school. It was a beautiful opportunity for our GALA Generations to visit, connect, share stories, and simply enjoy a special moment together.

We know that grandparents come in many forms, and that some are with us, some live far away, and some live forever in our hearts and memories. Today, we celebrate them all.

Here’s to the grandparents out there, here with us, and forever remembered. 💜 Happy Grandparents Day from our GALA family to yours!

// Back to School Night // It was a wonderful evening of connection, community, and getting to know the people who will help make this school year a great one!

Parents followed their students’ schedules and had the opportunity to meet each of their teachers, learn more about their classrooms, and get a glimpse of what’s ahead for the year.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible student volunteers who welcomed and checked in our families, our grade-level leads and Advisory room parents, booths for the L.A.C.E.R. after-school program, Friends of GALA, and parent groups for being part of the evening and helping our families feel at home.

Thank you to Paulina’s Catering for the delicious tacos!

We are so grateful for the amazing GALA community that makes nights like this possible. Here’s to a fantastic school year!
