Five second-year JD students received the 2026 CEB Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing at the annual award ceremony recognizing excellent first-year brief writing on Aug. 31. Zaleya Galvan, Caitlin Kennedy, Paola Michelle Montpiedra, Esther Yun, and Ani Ayvazian were selected by alumni judges Karen Bohmholdt '04, Michelle Cornell-Davis, and Michael Driscoll, Jr. They each received a $600 prize from CEB. Thanks to CEB for supporting the students through this award and congratulations to the winners for their fantastic work!
The award ceremony also recognized 18 winners of LLS's First-Year Brief Award. These students were selected by the Legal Research and Writing faculty, who were impressed by their legal analysis, written clarity, and persuasiveness. Congratulations to all the winners!
