In this 6-day course with permaculture and natural farming teachers Larry Korn and special guest contributors we will explore the philosophy, spirit, and practical techniques of Masanobu Fukuoka, pioneer and world leader of the natural farming movement. It will be the first course of its kind to be offered in North America.

Larry lived at Mr. Fukuoka’s farm for two years in the 1970s and translated his best-selling book, The One-Straw Revolution. He also traveled with Mr. Fukuoka on two 6-week visits to the United States. This is a rare opportunity to get an inside look at what natural farming actually is, and who Mr. Fukuoka was as a person.

Fukuoka-sensei believed that without natural people there can be no natural farming, so in this workshop, besides learning about Fukuoka-sensei’s philosophy and farming techniques we will also learn how to reconnect with our natural selves.

"Our human relationships are our biggest constraining factor in the work of transforming society... When we can be as skillful in our human interactions as we are in our garden designs, we’ll become an invincible force of healing for our communities and our earth." ~~Starhawk

BEAUTIFUL SOUTHERN OREGON
The Buckhorn Springs retreat center is nestled into its own secluded valley next to a creek with groves of native oaks, ponderosa pines, and ancient cedars. It is just a few minutes from the town of Ashland, a major tourist destination known for rafting on the nearby Rogue and Klamath rivers, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and the Britt Festival in Jacksonville. Ashland is also known for its vibrant and diverse community of people interested in the fine arts, the healing arts, organic gardening and farming, and healthy seasonal diet.

It is within easy reach of Crater Lake, Oregon Caves, Mt. Shasta, magnificent redwood forests along the prestine Smith River and the nearly deserted beaches of southern Oregon and northern California.
