“The first rule of intelligent tinkering is to save all the parts” Paul Ehrlich

If I’ve learned nothing else in France, I’ve learned that the French are masters at saving it all.
At the brocantes or vide greniers, we often come upon someone’s former sewing basket, workshop box, or kitchen drawer. One can almost reconstruct a life from the fragments: the hem that was going to be fixed, the empty music cards, the unwritten mourning letters - as if nothing is ever truly meant to be thrown away. One more reason to love France ♥️

Each summer we gather in an old house in the French countryside to stitch, wander village streets, search for treasures, share Charlotte’s home-cooked meals, and connect with women who have come from around the world.
As we prepare for this summer’s France Getaway, one room has opened in Week 6.
If you’ve dreamed of a quiet escape to France — slow days, beautiful textiles, antique markets, and the company of like-minded women — we would love to welcome you.
Please write to [email protected] for details♥️

It’s Friday and the boxes from India are finally unpacked - took us a few weeks! I fell in love with every piece again and had to figure out how to split up this collection - to cut or not to cut?!
I’m still blown away by the color combinations we saw in Jaipur and Jodhpur. Indigo, saffron, madder, iron water - and all the coral and pinks. Saturated but faded at the same time.
Every textile was thoughtfully created for something useful. Many were tucked away and repaired. I brought home a combination of both old and new - coming soon to the website. ♥️

Meanwhile, if you can’t wait…join for her Handmade India trunk show this Sunday - she brought home a trunk load of beautiful ribbons from Delhi! ♥️ See you there!
