We recently joined the Leading Into Leadership podcast to talk about something we see every day working with schools:
Plans don’t improve instruction…
Ex*****on does.
What we’ve learned from thousands of walkthroughs and coaching conversations:
• Focus beats volume
• Clarity beats broad goals
• Presence beats intention
• Feedback cycles beat data collection alone
This is the work we support alongside school leaders every day.
🎥 Sharing a clip from the conversation.

Effective Coaching Leading to Results
digiCOACH is an iPad app designed for instructional leaders and administrators as an efficient tool for conducting classroom walkthroughs and coaching teachers.
We had a great conversation on the Leading Into Leadership podcast about what actually makes school improvement plans work.
Quick question for school leaders:
👉 What is your team truly focused on right now?
Not 5 things.
Not 3 things.
What are your 1–2 priorities?
That’s where the impact lives.
🎥 Watch this short clip, then go listen to 'Episode 273: Why Most School Plans Fail' to hear the full conversation.

Part 6 of our Mini Leadership Series is here.
Throughout this series, we’ve explored how walkthroughs and coaching work together to strengthen instruction. From observation and coaching conversations to small data insights, consistency, and feedback, these practices do more than improve individual lessons. They shape a school’s instructional culture.
A strong walkthrough culture emphasizes continuous improvement, shared responsibility, and a clear focus on teaching and learning. Over time, this leads to stronger alignment, deeper collaboration, and better outcomes for students.
👉 This week’s challenge:
Invite teacher leaders or coaches to join walkthroughs. Shared observation builds collective ownership of instructional improvement.
💬 Comment one action you’ll take this week to strengthen your school’s culture

Part 4 of our Mini Leadership Series.
Instructional leadership isn’t defined by occasional visits.
It’s defined by consistent presence.
When walkthroughs are predictable and supportive, teachers begin to see leaders as partners in learning. Trust grows, risk-taking increases, and conversations about practice become more honest and productive.
👉 This week’s challenge:
Schedule short, regular walkthrough blocks on your calendar. Even 10–15 minutes daily builds visibility and trust.
💬 What’s one action you can take to show presence in classrooms?

Part 3 of our Mini Leadership Series.
Those quick classroom visits may feel small in the moment, but over time they tell an important story.
Walkthroughs generate frequent, bite-sized data points that reveal patterns across classrooms. Instead of relying on assumptions, leaders can respond to real needs with targeted support, professional learning, and resource decisions.
👉 This week’s challenge:
Track one look-for across multiple classrooms. At the end of the week, ask: What patterns do I see? Where might support be needed?
💬 Comment your current instructional priority below

Part 2 of our Mini Leadership Series
Growth happens in the conversations that follow walkthroughs.
When coaching focuses on strengths, reflection, and next steps, teachers feel supported, trust grows, and new practices are more likely to stick.
👉 This week’s challenge: After your next walkthrough, share one strength you observed and one reflective question.
📌Save this as a reminder to send timely feedback

Part 1 of our Mini Leadership Series is here.
Walkthroughs aren’t about catching mistakes.
They’re about creating clarity and alignment.
When leaders focus on patterns across classrooms, they can better support teachers and strengthen instructional consistency.
👉 This week’s challenge:
Choose one instructional priority and visit 3–5 classrooms looking only for that focus.
💬 What’s the priority you’ll focus on this week?
