Not enormous, but incredibly persistent. Once it chooses its prey, it almost never leaves.

Terrifying because of its extremely unfavorable environment. At the bottom of the ocean, with low oxygen and poor visibility, the shark just waits for humans to panic.

If only considering the level of horror, I'd still choose Jaws. But if considering overall danger, The Meg is too difficult to survive.

The Meg creates a sense of awe because the shark is so enormous, almost like the final boss of the ocean. But movies like Jaws, The Shallows, or The Reef are scary in a different way: the shark doesn't need to appear much; just its shadow underwater is enough to make viewers tense.

Giant sharks scare you because you can't defeat them.

Realistic sharks scare you because you don't know where they are, when they'll attack, and whether the character will have time to swim a few meters to survive.
