Tonight is our game night and line dancing class. Both events are free for attendees. Our line dancing class is $25 for the public.

🐝 Hey Hornets! Our 38th Biennial National Alumni Convention gets off the ground tomorrow at 1:00 PM.

If you have some free time, come by and say “hi” at any point during the convention.

We will have vendors on site all day. Including our very own Monece Sterling and Aquilla Scott !

Alabama State University’s 38th Biennial National Alumni Convention is just two days away.

It runs from July 31st-August 3rd 2025.

Check out these cool Oscar facts.

🏆 Viola Davis is the first Black actor to win a Tony, Emmy, and Oscar for acting. An achievement only 24 other actors have accomplished.

🏆Russell Williams II is a Black sound engineer who has won two Academy Awards, both in the Best Sound category:
Glory (1989). Dances with Wolves (1990). He was the first African American to win multiple Oscars in any category. He won them back-to-back, which is both rare and incredible.

🏆 Jordan Peele became the first Black screenwriter to win Best Original Screenplay with Get Out.

🏆 Ruth E. Carter became the first Black person to win an Oscar for costume design. She won in 2019 for Black Panther and again in 2023 for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, becoming the first Black woman to win two Oscars in any category.
