Dress in your finest flapper dresses, pearls, suspenders, or pinstripes as you enter a world of jazz, mocktails, and hidden motives. Guests will take on characters, uncover clues, and work together to solve a thrilling murder mystery before the night is over. Light bites and themed drinks will be served. Come ready to mingle, investigate, and embrace the drama of a bygone era.

During Israel Week at UCLA, our students and Israel Fellow wrote and performed an original song based on messages from a fallen soldier to her family. In the middle of a busy campus, our Jewish Bruins created a space for solemn remembrance, deep connection, and raw talent.

Israel Week wasn’t just about one event—it was about the full spectrum of our identity. From the Tel Aviv energy of our Yom HaAtzmaut “Shuk” to hearing the firsthand story of former hostage Omer Shem Tov, Hillel is where students come to lead with pride and think critically.

Hillel at UCLA and Students Supporting Israel UCLA would like to apologize...

…for absolutely nothing.

Members of UCLA student government (USAC) have once again shown they are anti-dialogue, anti-learning, anti-truth, anti-student, anti-Jewish and antisemitic in condemning our beautiful event last week with Omer Shem Tov, a young man kidnapped from a music festival and held, tortured, and treated inhumanely as a hostage and human slave by Hamas in Gaza for over 500 days.

Omer’s story rang loudly and proudly on campus last week, as the world was observing Yom Hashoah- when we remind ourselves and our allies to never forget the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.  How appropriate, then, that Omer was here to help remind UCLA of humanity in times of darkness.

This theme continues on campus this week as Hillel hosts programs and events for Israel’s memorial day and Israel’s 78th year of Independence. We look forward to meaningful and open conversations and exchanges with everyone on our campus who supports dialogue, democracy, learning and truth.

Today, on Yom HaShoa, we remember the 6 million lives lost to the Holocaust. May their memories be for a blessing ❤️‍🩹🕯️

At 12pm, we will be joined by Mark Bamberger. Mark Bamberger, MD is the son of two German-Jewish Refugees, both of whom were able to flee from the N***s and ultimately settle in Los Angeles. With the aid of documents left to him by his father, Mark will recall his family’s 100 year history, including the periods before, during and after the Holocaust.
It is a story of survival, tragedy, resilience and perseverance.
