Part of that commitment has been an effort to improve Oxy’s sustainable food procurement.

Love to cook? Love to compete? YOU might have what it takes to be Oxy’s Iron Chef!

Oxy’s Own Iron Chef competition is coming back this Earth Month on April 11! Everyone is welcome to compete — students, staff and faculty! Pull together a team of three or fewer and apply here: https://goo.gl/forms/z74s0Zk9hBI1nlRU2

Similar to last year's competition, tantalizing prizes like a $50 local restaurant gift certificate can be won. There will be a $5 charge per member, with the money going to support FEAST.

Registration ends March 21. Six teams will be chosen based on the most compelling reason you want to join Iron Chef and the team makeup. So apply now! (More info at email's end).

On Thursday, April 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the JSC Quad, six teams will battle as the the event MC, Amos Himmelstein, provides play-by-play of the action. Their task is creating the best vegetarian or vegan starter and sauté dishes. A wide variety of fresh organic produce (some freshly picked at the FEAST garden), FEAST eggs, spices, oils AND one secret ingredient will be at the team’s disposal. The top teams will be awarded with culinary goodies.

The contest is led by FEAST and supported by Campus Dining, Facilities Management, RESF, and the Office of the President.
