The L.A. Community Organizing Academy (LACOA) is a free college-course program housed at Los Angeles

The Social Justice Community Organizing Academy is currently at the end of its pilot year. Student recruitment for this class started during summer of 2011 and resulted in 38 students being admitted to the program after the completion of an application and interview process. A majority of the students are active members of different community organizations in Los Angeles wishing to gain employment

Class Is in Session! Join us for our Workforce Development & Employment Strategies course as apart of our Economic Development Academy @ LATTC tonight at 6pm in Aspen Hall/F5, room 312. We're still taking students so any interested participants are welcome to drop in as staff will be on-site for enrollment support. Calling alumni of Community Planning and Economic Development Program at LATTC, Community Planning & Economic Development Club-LATTC, Los Angeles Community Organizing Academy, PublicAllies LosAngeles - We need your help canvassing LATTC for Voter Registration and the Yes on Prop 47 campaign!

This bill can give many students and residents in South LA a second chance with resentencing!

Key Dates are 10/16 and 10/20. We need 25 people to volunteer for each shift. Come out before work 7 - 9am, during lunch 11 - 1p, or at the end of the day 4 - 6p.
