USC and MISC are proud sponsors of the Green Film School Alliance (GFSA), a collection of film schools, who in partnership with the Sustainable Production Alliance (SPA), strive to promote and reduce the impact of physical production on the environment and create industry-level sustainable production standards and best practices for the film schools’ programs.

Calling all students! Family Pictures USA is working with USC Visions & Voices along with SCA for a special program celebrating our unique journeys through life and HOW I GOT HERE.

What do they need? 1 - 3 photos of your journey to where you are today. The journey could cover a period of time or it could represent a spatial geography or even an emotional transformation and importantly it should capture the essence of what "Here" means to you.

From the submissions, they will select 8 - 10 USC students to feature their photos and share their stories LIVE during our Family Pictures USC Student Presentation Webinar at 6:00 P.M. PDT on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022.

It wasn't that long ago that the world watched the resurgence of the Taliban taking back control over Afghanistan. What felt sudden and inevitable however led to Afghan human rights activist, Crystal Bayat, to lead protests over the takeover. Join her as she discusses what does the Taliban takeover mean for the future of women’s rights in the Middle East? And what can we do to advocate for those who have been silenced?

RSVP is free and she will be joined by Olympic swimmer Yusra Mardini, who fled Syria in 2015 in a small dinghy full of refugees, and will be moderated by social entrepreneur Hila Azadzoy. Monthly festival alert! Join New Filmmakers LA their monthly festival program celebrating Latin X and Hispanic films and voices. In partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, this festival will feature almost two dozen cinematic shorts starting Friday September 17th until the 18th.
