Governor Gavin Newsom’s May Revise budget cuts include a proposal to raise monthly Medi-Cal premiums for undocumented immigrants from $30 to $50. This is in addition to previously announced cutbacks, including enrollment and coverage restrictions and assets limits for seniors and disabled individuals.
We joined a press conference with California Community Foundation, California Immigrant Policy Center, SEIU-USWW and other Los Angeles elected officials and advocates to uplift the need of our immigrant communities and call on legislators to protect all Californian’s access to healthcare, regardless of immigration status.
It just makes us feel proud. 🥹
Did you know that Latinas/os make up nearly half of the population of Los Angeles County and about 38% of its registered voters? That’s a lot of power. 🏙️ ✊🏽
