An Animal Control Officer sent me this video while working the Eaton Fire in the Los Angeles County.
I share this video to show how ACOs put themselves in risky and dangerous situations and work closely with Law Enforcement and Fire Departments to help rescue animals that are trapped in the homes where the owners can no longer access.
Thank you to our ACOs for the work you are doing today and in the next few days as these winds are hanging around.
Also don't want to forget our shelter staff that are dealing with the influx of animals to take care of onsite and offsite locations while their owners deal with the fires.

Part of being prepared starts with making sure your equipment is working correctly.
The catch poles take some abuse from the animals and if it fails it can result in some bad situations for the animals or the Animal Control Officer.

Yes! Stop it! 🛑 This also goes for kittens too. Mom cat doesn’t sit with her kittens 24/7 since she has to get food too. End of rant 😑
