Greenland Development Foundation (GDF) is now building the world’s first eco-friendly; holistic, humane, biodiverse and integrated; self-sustaining and self-recycling; artificial, chemical, and waste-free biovillage!

The 50 acres of land for the GDF Holistic Biovillage has already been secured in Gumdry, Ethiopia. Gumdry is located just 50 miles from the source of the Nile River. Our land is the size of over 37 football fields on some of the most rich and fertile soil in the world and with the most temperate of mild and balanced climates with excellent weather conditions. This will be the site of a revolutionary and groundbreaking farm, garden, and nature conservancy.

Our GDF team is designing what intends to be a miraculous wonder of nature, science, technology and engineering. It will include bountiful gardens, fruit orchards, and an organic farm. It will include a free, supported, natural, independent, and living zoo. This project will be built with hydroelectric energy from the Nile River Dam originally and will move towards self-sufficient energy independence by 2025. It will employ renewable energy sources exclusively such as, but not limited to solar, wind, geothermal, and bioenergy. This model biovillage will ultimately produce an energy surplus for export.

The GDF Holistic Biovillage will be a scientific demonstration of ecosystem development, conservation, transformation, and restoration. Our team is designing and engineering a holistic and integrated plan in harmony with nature. Everything here will be organic. There will be integrated farming, crop rotation, composting, and even vertical farming. All of the most innovative scientific, organically natural, and technological advances will be employed in the creation of the GDF Holistic Biovillage. No harmful chemicals nor artificial ingredients will be utilized. No waste products will be generated. The system will be regenerative. One source of waste will be used to build another usable product. One source of life will feed from the waste of another. Nature’s regenerative microorganisms and fungi which eat waste, toxins and pollutants to clean the environment will be utilized. This project will become a showcase for local & international universities and graduate student research and leadership programs.

We intend to work with the Ethiopian government soon to build the water wells. We will create a powerful and effective water distribution and plumbing system. We will build a powerful and effective sanitation and wastewater treatment plant. We will utilize the most advanced and ecologically efficient & sustainable building materials and the most advanced in 3D-printed design & construction technology including the possibility of innovative structures such as vertical farming and geodesic domes.

On the GDF Holistic Biovillage, all living beings will live in harmony and balance. No harm, nor damage, will be caused to the earth, nor to the humans, nor animals living on it. We will practice the most life honoring and humane practices in the raising and killing of our livestock animals for food production. We will advocate for vegetarianism and veganism. We will be responsible for minimizing, and eliminating whenever possible the suffering of all living beings. We will be empathetic and respectful to the lives and also feelings of animals in the natural life cycle which sustain and nourish our very own lives.

The GDF Holistic Biovillage will include: Plants. Animals. Humans. Honey bees. Avocado trees. Livestock including Chicken. Turkey. Fisheries. Sheep. Eggs. Soy. Milk. Cheese. Fruit trees. Cotton. Wheat. H**p. Sugar. Papaya. Mango. Tomatoes. Potatoes. Carrots. Corn. Rice. Lettuce. Spinach. Peas. Beets. Zucchini. Squash. Mushrooms. Figs. Honey. Herbs. Fruits, roots, seeds, nuts and berries. Vegetables, vitamins, and minerals. We will have food and medicinal security. We will even consider the possibility of designing and manufacturing on site our own clothing, apparel, and other products utilizing our wood, h**p, and cotton crop production. We will produce our own diverse h**p products including clothing, fuel, food, h**p-plastic, and also h**p-steel, which is actually six times stronger than steel. This will be the creation of an exceptionally biodiverse environment with a highly successful economy based simply upon many fine export products.

In the GDF Holistic Biovillage model, every trash, waste, and garbage will find breakdown through fungi and microorganism digestion into a harmless material and even into a valuable resource. Every garbage will be turned into a useful product or resource. This will be an environmentally biodiverse system which includes integrity and responsibility for completing the full cycle of nature in which death regenerates into life. We intend to effectively utilize the full circle of life which eliminates waste and trash, by definition. We will use science to create a completely self-sustaining and self-recycling ecosystem operating in integrity with, responsible for, and in completion with what waste we create and also what harm we commit not to cause. Our system will break down, reuse, and eliminate all of our wastes! Additionally, we will cause for ourselves independence from all external energy resources and we will eliminate the need for external waste disposal from our biovillage.

The GDF Holistic Biovillage will be a Living Exemplar for future leaders and students!
It will be environmentally regenerative, rejuvenative, and transformative for the ecosystem. This project will be restorative for nature and also for mankind’s vision for our civilization to live harmlessly, humanely, sustainably, and in balance with nature! We will rediscover our humanity and find again where kindness, harmony, integrity, and balance can exist together! We will honor, conserve, and preserve nature! We will educate the world on how to build and develop these energy-producing, independent, self-sustaining, and self-recycling biovillages as a model for entire and partial recreation throughout the entire world!
