What a great way to kick off a new school year at Valley View!
Thank you to all the families who joined us for yesterday’s Back-to-School Playdate. New friends were made, old friends reunited, and we even had a special visit from our beloved first-grade teacher Ms. Rodriguez and her dog, Elsa!
We loved seeing so many new and returning Valley View families together and getting excited for the year ahead.
School starts this week — we can’t wait to see everyone back on campus!

School starts next week, and tomorrow is the perfect way to kick off the new school year!
Before the first bell rings, take a few minutes to check a few things off your family’s Back-to-School Checklist:
• Join or renew your PTA membership.
• Complete or renew your LAUSD volunteer application.
• Save these important August dates.
Then come celebrate with us at our Back-to-School Park Playdate tomorrow, Saturday, August 8, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM at North Weddington Park. Whether you’re new to Valley View or returning for another great year, it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet other families, reconnect with friends, and start the school year together.

Our 2026/27 Afterschool Enrichment lineup flyer is coming home, and we need your help estimating interest so we can plan class sizes and accommodate as many students as possible.
These exciting on-campus programs will be open to all Valley View students next school year and include creative, engaging afterschool experiences.
Enrollment is not open yet — this is just a headcount form for families who think their student may participate.
