You do not need to pretend to be more needy, clingy, or relationship obsessed than you actually are just because you think that is what attraction is supposed to look like.

Maybe you have a bunch of Libra placements and relationships are naturally a huge focus for you. Maybe you do not. Maybe you are independent, selective, Gen Z, or simply not feeling the whole performative relationship thing. And if you are Gen Z, many of you have Pluto in Sagittarius and Neptune in Aquarius signatures that can come with a pretty natural instinct to question inherited relationship scripts and do relationships on your own terms.

It is OK to just be yourself.

Knowing someoneโ€™s birth time gives you access to their Ascendant and houses, but not having it doesnโ€™t mean you have nothing to work with.

If you know your birth time, start with your Ascendant. The planet ruling your Rising sign is your chart ruler. Find that planet. What sign, degree and house is it in? What aspects does it make?

If you donโ€™t know your Twin Flameโ€™s birth time, you wonโ€™t reliably know their Ascendant or houses, but you can still work with placements that can be established from their birth date.

Start with their Sun sign and its ruler. Find that ruling planet and look at the sign it occupies. If the sign has both a traditional and modern ruler, I like looking at both.

And if you know your own birth time, you can place your Twin Flameโ€™s planets into your houses and see which areas of your life they activate.

Degrees add another layer. Depending on how much a planet moves that day, you can sometimes narrow its degree closely enough to work with degree theory. Faster moving placements require more caution without a birth time.

This is where astrology starts becoming a language instead of a list of placements. Follow the rulerships, degrees and aspects and see how the pieces speak to each other.

This eclipse occurred around 5ยฐ Pisces, which puts the mutable signs directly into the conversation.

โ™“๏ธŽ Pisces placements receive the conjunction. Something connected with that planet and the house it occupies can become more immediate, visible or personally significant.

โ™๏ธŽ Virgo placements receive the opposition. This can illuminate a polarity between two areas of your chart and ask you to see something from the other side of the axis.

โ™Š๏ธŽ Gemini placements receive the square. Squares create pressure between different parts of the chart, showing where an existing approach needs adjustment or a different response.

โ™๏ธŽ Sagittarius placements also receive the square. Something that had room to remain theoretical, distant or unresolved can require more direct engagement.

You do not need to begin with every complicated aspect or obscure chart detail. Start with what is easiest to see. Look at planets that are right next to each other, especially conjunctions, then move into major aspects like oppositions, squares, and trines.

I also talk about houses, degrees, degree theory, and some of the differences you may notice between Placidus and Whole Sign, including intercepted houses.

The point is not to make astrology more complicated. It is to help you understand what is showing up between two charts and know what deserves your attention first.

A few days ago I jokingly wondered if I had made up a term: Astrology Nouveau.

It came from hearing familiar planets assigned increasingly unexpected meanings. Saturn is the gift giver. Pluto is true love. And Iโ€™m over here wondering if Jupiter can still be the abundance planet. โ™ƒ

Astrology evolves, and agreed upon definitions still have relevance. With Mercury now in Virgo, it seems like a good time to remember the value of knowing what something means before deciding what else it can mean.

The Pisces lunar eclipse closely conjuncted my natal Mars in Pisces in my 10th house. For me, part of that has been clearing space for my own inner authority in my work. I can appreciate what Iโ€™ve learned and the people and experiences I learned from without being tied to every framework that came with them.
