August is National Black Business Month! EmpowHer Institute is proud to celebrate our ongoing partnership with Brick City Boxing, a small Black-owned business located in Pasadena, CA. Brick City Boxing has been a powerhouse in our community by training our girls and their siblings (all genders), building discipline, and supporting our youth as they heal from trauma and build confidence. Its owner, Joe Hanks, teaches our youth that strength isn't about the power of your fist, but about being mentally and physically healthy. Thank you, Brick City Boxing, for standing with EmpowHer Institute to create futures full of confidence and possibility for our youth. Thank you for being a champion of girls. Thank you for helping them build defence skills and showing them that they are unstoppable!

These names and flavors are used to secretly market to kids and make something harmful look harmless. Watch as our EmpowHer girls talk about how ads with young models and hype music make va**ng feel trendy.
They get real about why teens v**e like the variety of fun flavors to the hardship of navigating stress and anxiety. And how those reasons get used against them.
