The Cooper Reading Challenge encourages our youth to discover the joy of reading while building strong literacy habits, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. 🎒💙 Donor Spotlight: Thank You, Kinecta!

A huge thank you to the Kinecta Federal Credit Union – Woodland Hills Branch for helping our youth start the school year off strong!

Kinecta generously donated 25 backpacks filled with school supplies for our youth, providing them with essential tools to feel prepared, confident, and excited as they head back to school.

We are incredibly grateful to the Kinecta team for investing in our kids and supporting our mission. Seeing our youth begin the school year with the supplies they need is a wonderful reminder of the impact that community partnerships can make.

Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley was honored to attend this annual celebration alongside fellow business and community leaders. 💙Donor Spotlight: Thank You, Henry Lichstein!

A simple act of generosity can create countless moments of joy.

When Henry Lichstein's grandson left for college, Henry donated his family's beloved pool table to Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley. He also generously contributed $450 to help cover the moving costs, ensuring it arrived safely at the Club.

Today, that pool table is a favorite gathering place where our youth build friendships, develop new skills, and create lasting memories. Thank you, Henry, for investing in the next generation and helping make great futures possible!

🏀 What an unforgettable day at the LA Sparks game!

Our students had an amazing time experiencing the excitement of a live professional women's basketball game while cheering on the LA Sparks alongside their peers.

Beyond the action on the court, our members witnessed the power of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance as they watched elite athletes compete at the highest level. From the electric game-day atmosphere to fun fan engagement activities, the experience was filled with excitement, inspiration, and lasting memories.

Opportunities like these encourage our youth to stay active, dream big, and see firsthand how sports can positively impact their lives—both on and off the court.

🥋 Volunteer Spotlight: Quest Martial Arts 🥋

This month, we're proud to highlight one of our amazing volunteer-led summer programs!

For the past six weeks, the incredible team from has been inspiring youth at our Elementary sites with fun, hands-on martial arts classes. Led by Owner and Chief Instructor Aaron Lawrence, has partnered with Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley for more than five years, generously volunteering their time to teach valuable skills that build confidence, discipline, and respect.

At Woodland Hills Elementary, students learned what it means to be "modern-day warriors" as they practiced foundational techniques like palm strikes and kicks. They even put their new skills to the test by breaking practice boards!

The program concludes with an exciting Belt Graduation Ceremony, where students proudly demonstrate everything they've learned on a real board.

We are incredibly grateful to all of our volunteers who make programs like this possible. Your dedication helps empower our youth and strengthen our community every day.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms that unite us and the opportunities that help every young person build a great future.

🎲✨ Last June, we launched our new Game Room at Justice Street Elementary, creating a fun and welcoming space where members can connect, learn, and play together!

Through board games, LEGO challenges, and creative activities, members are building teamwork, communication, problem-solving skills, and new friendships across grade levels.

We're excited to continue the Game Room next semester and can't wait to see our members keep learning, creating, and growing together! 💙💛
