Little frogs, a little swing, and an old song feels new again. 🐸🎶

In our Ladybug Music classes, even a familiar song gives us something new to explore. Here, we’re emphasizing beats TWO and FOUR, while the song’s swing gives the rhythm that lilting, bouncy feel you can hear—and see in those little bodies.

Our parents help keep the groove going while the frog finger puppets give the children something playful to follow. Watching, listening, singing, moving… so many ways into the same musical moment.

Children don’t need to count the beats or know what “swing” means to start feeling it. They get to experience it with us, through music and play. ❤️

Every child finds their way into music in their own time. 💚

When this little Ladybug joined us in January, he was a little on the shy side. And now? Just look at those dancing feet, right on the beat. 🐞🎶

This is one of the reasons repetition and consistency matter so much in early childhood music. When children come back week after week, hear familiar songs, see familiar faces, and experience the same musical routines again and again, they have time to settle in, observe, experiment, and participate when they’re ready.

There’s no rush. Some children jump right in. Others watch for a while before the music starts showing up in their voices, their bodies, their rhythm, and their confidence.

We love getting to give them that room to grow.

And sometimes, one day, you look over and realize…

they found their dancing feet. 💚

Same hello song, a whole new discovery. 🔔

Our Big Kids class is playing resonator bells for the first time! Some children watch before joining in. Others start experimenting right away. Everyone is getting to know the instruments in their own way, with their grown-ups close by.

That’s what these early weeks are for: listening, exploring, and giving something new a go. Returning to the same song each week gives children time to get comfortable and discover a little more.

At Ladybug Music, our preschool music classes bring singing, movement, and hands-on instrument play together with room to learn at your own pace. And plenty of fun along the way. ❤️

Watching is part of joining in. 💛

When we introduce a new song at Ladybug Music, children have time to watch, listen, and try the movements at their own pace. Parents and caregivers help show the way, one shake and hand roll at a time.

Those little movements give children a chance to practice coordination, explore rhythm, and connect what they hear with what their bodies can do. There’s no rush to get it “right.”

Watch for the little hand rolls at the end. 🥹

The body often knows the music before the mind does. ❤️

Before children know every word or understand what they’re hearing, they can already feel the groove. They move, sway, bounce, dance, and respond to the shape and energy of the music.

That feeling is a big part of what makes Ladybug Music different.

Our songs were brought to life by experienced professional musicians, and that musicianship lives inside every Ladybug collection. The rhythm, phrasing, dynamics, instrumentation and groove give children something rich and real to respond to, long before they have the language to describe it.

Here, our version of “Crawdad” gives everyone plenty to feel. Add scarves, movement and a little imagination, and the whole room becomes part of the music.

Early childhood music doesn’t have to be simplified to connect with young children. Sometimes the richer the music, the more there is for their bodies, ears and imaginations to discover.

There is so much learning happening in a baby music class, and sometimes it does not look like “sit still and follow along.” Sometimes it looks like this: a new baby staying close, connecting with the teacher, listening to the music, and then feeling safe enough to step away and explore something new.

That sense of safety matters. In early childhood music, babies learn through relationship, repetition, movement, rhythm, and exploration. A warm, steady teacher helps create the kind of environment where little ones can bond, build trust, and begin to follow their own curiosity. And yes, sometimes that means finding those little walking feet right in the middle of a song.

We love these real moments in class because they remind us that music supports so much more than singing. It supports connection, confidence, body awareness, rhythm learning, and early social-emotional development, too.
