The night before my first year of teaching, I was sitting on my living room floor at 11:30 p.m., surrounded by construction paper and laminating pouches, wondering...

"How am I supposed to keep this up all year?"

The answer?

I couldn't.

And thankfully, I didn't.

Over the years, I learned that great teaching isn't about spending every evening creating elaborate lessons. It's about finding resources that are meaningful, engaging, and ready when you need them.

That's become my goal with every resource I create.

If I wouldn't have wanted to prep it after a long day of teaching, I don't expect another teacher to either.

I just published a new blog post sharing 7 of my favorite low-prep resources that have saved me time year after year—from back-to-school icebreakers to reading, grammar, geography, and even a little math.

I hope it encourages you to spend a little less time planning and a little more time enjoying these last days before school starts. ❤️

I joined the pencil sign out trend, and it has helped! All the teachers in my crew are doing something like this, so students will always have access to a pencil. I put my doc with the images linked in the comments below if you want these (so far Jane Goodall is their favorite)! 📷 Katie Coppens
