We are writing to share the heartbreaking closure of our school. This decision was immensely difficult and something that none of us wanted but ultimately LACPA does not have the financial means to open in August of 2024. We have fought for as long as we could and with immense passion, for that we are immensely grateful.
We are so proud of the work and growth our students, staff, and community have had over the past three years. Together, we have learned from one another, cared for each other, and fought to co-create a loving and nurturing space. We are saddened that our time at LACPA has come to an end but know that the work we do continues. We hope that all people who have experienced LACPA will continue to fight for a more just world, one where all humans are seen as full and flourishing beings that are worthy of dignity and respect.
As our team joins new schools across Los Angeles we will continue to deepen our critical consciousness, and to help dismantle systems of oppression, interrupting hate and building spaces of love, safety and learning ❤️
We believe we can build things that do not yet exist.
We learned that courage is not the absence of fear, but love in action.
In all that we do - we will continue to center everyone’s humanity first.
