Study for Cannabis and Pain Management

Are you an African American adult who uses Cannabis for chronic pain management? You may be eligible for a research study conducted by the UCLA Department of Family Medicine.

This research study is virtual, and will require participation in a 15 minute screening over phone, a 30 minute survey, a 15 minute online game with balloons, and a 60 minute interview over Zoom. Participants will also complete a self administered urine drug screening (sent to your address) to confirm cannabis use. Participation lasts ~2 hours and participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card with completion.

You are eligible for this study if you:

• identify as African/ Black American
• are age 18-60
• Experience non-cancer chronic pain
• Use medical cannabis as pain treatment either daily or less than 5 times per month
• Have not experienced a traumatic brain injury
• Are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• Are a resident of Los Angeles county
• Have access to a physical mailing address in Los Angeles county
• Have access to a computer with internet

This study is being funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. In order to participate, you must be 18 years of age, identify as Black/African-American, experience non-cancer related pain, have not suffered brain injury, have a physical address and computer access.
