An original piece I made a few years ago. It’s still my favorite out of everything I’ve created. Even if you asked me to make the exact same one again, I probably couldn’t.

何年か前に作ったオリジナル作品。今までの作った中で一番のお気に入り。同じものもう一回作れって言われても、作れないなぁ、たぶん。

Last week’s mimicafe Union artwork😺
This piece was recreated as a replica based on a photo provided by the client. The figure is posed sitting on the car’s hood and over the tire, and it was quite challenging to reproduce the exact angle, but I feel like I was able to get about 95% close to the original photo. I wish I could have made the hair look a little more like it was blowing in the wind.
I delivered the figure to Downtown Los Angeles at the Petersen Automotive Museum, where it was assembled with the replica car cake made by . Together, it recreated the original photo beautifully!

Many thanks to and Donna for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I truly appreciate it. Thank you so much!

[ Part 4 ] Today I’m making a creative version of Nehan dango, traditional dumplings made with mochiko (rice flour). It’s something my grandma used to make when I was little.

You color the dough, mix it with hot water, shape it, steam it, and then let it dry. After that, there’s an event at the temple where these dumplings are thrown out to the crowd and everyone tries to catch them. They’re meant to bring good health and protection, so people keep them like little good-luck charms.

When I was a kid, I used to sit next to my grandma and make whatever I wanted—cats, dogs, and other random shapes. Maybe that was the very beginning of my figure-making days.

The taste is very simple, but I absolutely love it. Today was a new challenge for me, so hopefully next time I can make them even better! 😊
