Los Angeles Trade-Technical College is pleased to host the Los Angeles Community College District’s 6th annual Culinary Cup on Friday, May 8, 2026. The full-day event presents an exciting culinary competition featuring chef instructors and culinary students from the Los Angeles Community College District’s three colleges with culinary programs: Trade-Tech, Los Angeles Mission College, and Los Angeles Harbor College. The competition will culminate with the awarding of the coveted Golden Chef’s Hat trophy. This year’s competition will take inspiration from the flavors of Sicily. Culinary teams will be asked use traditional Sicilian ingredients to prepare Sicilian-inspired dishes. LATTC will bring in professionals from throughout the culinary industry to score the college teams in three distinct categories: Savory, Plated Dessert, and Tablescape.

In addition to the day’s competition, guests will enjoy guided tours of LATTC’s Culinary Arts Building, cooking and baking demonstrations, a special lunch prepared by Culinary Art students, and a seat at the awards ceremony.

Another hors d’oeuvres practical completed for Garde Manger 2! Students created one hot item and one cold item, enough for a class tasting party. The big advice: make them one-bite sized and mix textures/flavors! 🎡They also visited the farmers market in Santa Monica last week 🍅🍠🫑
