Join us in-person or on Zoom for our first event this year– learn about policies, facts, & how to respond to sexual trauma, particularly in the military community and the resources available.

We will have limited seats available for in-person attendees, so please RSVP! Zoom link will be sent out 24 hours prior to event. Link to register is in the bio.

We stand with survivors, including those who have experienced sexual assault on our very own campus. Please reach out to USC resources should you need support.

Hi everyone, we are continuing to highlight our graduating Military Social Work Track Students and we’ve got a 2 for 1 special today!

First, meet Veronica Olson. Veronica is an Air Force Veteran and student in the Adult Mental Health and Wellness Department (AMHW). She currently interns at the West LA VA providing services to Veterans with severe mental health disorders who are residing at CTRS and experiencing chronic homelessness. Veronica has also accepted an offer for a position at the West LA VA with the CERS/HUD-VASH team to continue working with veterans who are experiencing homelessness, recently housed, and at risk. Thank you Veronica for all that you do for our Veterans!

"Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."
-Mother Teresa

“I'm so grateful to God, for my Family, Friends, Sobriety and my dog Brutus (who has also technically taken every class with us. Does he get a diploma?)!!! Thank you for keeping me motivated, loving me, listening to my mental breakdowns and reminding me to keep on, keepin' on!!! WE DID IT! ;IGY6 Now the fun begins. FIGHT ON! ✌️”

Swipe to take a look at our fellow honoree, Brutus Olson aka Brute Force, Veronica’s beloved bulldog/our classmate.

Brutus says, “Sorry for all the times I was caught snoring on zoom.”

Please join us in congratulating Veronica for all her accomplishments and wishing her well in her future endeavors ✌️ and remember, 1 like = 1 belly rub for Brutus!

Good morning everyone, today we are highlighting another one of our E-Board Members, Shanden Brutsch. Shanden is the Vice President of the Military Social Work Caucus and in the Adult Mental Health and Wellness (AMHW) Department.

During her internship at Torrance Unified School District, Shanden advocated for more support for children of active duty service members. This year, she interns at the West LA VA providing services to our local Veterans. Thank you for all that you do for our Veterans and military families, Shanden.

“Congratulations grads! It's been a pleasure getting to know and working alongside you all in this program. After graduation I plan to continue surf/beach therapy with children who have special needs and alongside other surf therapists to support adults who have been affected by trauma. My dream jobs post-SC are engaging with veterans at the VA or DOD in a mental health capacity, and eventually being an active military family advocate during the deployment and reintegration processes. Best of luck to you all and hope to stay in touch! Fight on!”

Please join us in congratulating Shanden on all her accomplishments and wishing her well in her future endeavors ✌️
