PECADOS AVAILABLE ONLINE - La Gente Newsmagazine’s newest print edition, currently available to read virtually at lagente.org

In this issue we seek to examine the complex relationship of the Latinx and Chicanx community with religion. We embrace the painful duality of Roman Catholicism as a force of oppression and of unity in our communities, and take it apart in a beautiful tapestry of visual and literary analysis.

Thank you to our editorial board and supporting staff for making this beautiful issue possible.

Sights of solidarity during last Friday’s walkout for the .youthunite statewide day of action against ICE.

Thank you to all who gave their time to this act of unity. Organizations from the Defend Migrants Coalition West LA alongside our allies came together to demand that UCLA Administration and UCLA Health take immediate action to defend our migrant communities from ICE’s ongoing terror in our communities. Representatives from the coalition, Students for Socialism at UCLA, and the Young Democratic Socialists of America at UCLA delivered a letter to UCLA Administration offices in Murphy Hall with demands from our organizations, IDEAS at UCLA, and AFSCME 3299.

We expect a response from UCLA administration by this Friday, March 6.

Justice for migrants! End state terrorism! Defend migrant communities!

In solidarity,
DMC West LA
